The Role:
We are looking for a highly skilled DevOps/Data Engineer with strong proficiency in AWS to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in building scalable architecture on AWS and providing support to engineering teams with DevOps practices. This role requires a blend of expertise in cloud infrastructure, data engineering, and DevOps to ensure robust, secure, and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
AWS Architecture and Implementation:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure on AWS.
- Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Ensure the security, availability, and performance of all cloud environments.
Data Engineering:
- Develop and manage data pipelines and ETL processes to support data analytics and business intelligence.
- Optimise data storage and retrieval processes for performance and scalability.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with data governance standards.
DevOps Practices:
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the software development lifecycle.
- Develop and manage monitoring and alerting solutions to ensure system reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve deployment processes and operational efficiency.
Collaboration and Support:
- Work closely with engineering teams to provide DevOps and data engineering support.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure and application issues.
- Provide guidance and training to team members on best practices in cloud infrastructure, data engineering, and DevOps.
- Collaborate with wider business stakeholders where necessary.
- Present to wider business stakeholders where necessary.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay up-to-date with the latest AWS services, DevOps tools, and data engineering technologies.
- Identify opportunities for automation, optimisation, and improvement in existing processes.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of product and technology roadmaps and strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor鈥檚 degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer, Data Engineer, or similar role with a strong focus on AWS.
- Proficiency in AWS services, including EC2, EB, Redshift, S3, RDS, Lambda, and others.
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.
- Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
- Experience with data engineering tools and frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Kafka, Airflow).
- Strong understanding of monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or AWS Certified Data Analytics.
- Experience with containerisation and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with data warehousing solutions (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery).
- Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards in cloud environments.
